Business Has Never Been Healthier

It was two years ago when I first reported noticing that restaurant and bar smoking bans where I lived accomplished exactly the opposite of what angry critics to those bans had predicted would happen if smoking bans were enacted.

Instead of bars and restaurants losing business due to smoking bans, people started flocking to bars and restaurants after they became smoke-free. Becoming smoke-free is a boon to businesses.

But don't just take my word for it. It's already been shown that smoke-free ordinances did not have a negative economic impact on the hospitality industry in Wisconsin, and now Kentucky businesses are reporting the same positive results.

Just more proof that preventative smoke-free policies do work, and should be instituted nationwide.

  1. The Wisconsin Act 12, which prohibits smoking in bars, private clubs, restaurants and other venues, had it's three-year birthday Friday, and it hasn't only benefited business profits.
