U.S. troops, their family members, and retirees who wanted to stop smoking could attend counseling and had access to online education tools to help them quit. But they couldn't get medications to curb cravings unless they paid for them out-of-pocket.
Though a limited number of smoking cessation medications have previously been available in military hospitals and clinics, beneficiaries living in the United States can now get a wide range of gums, pills, lozenges, patches or nasal sprays delivered free through TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery.
So, lets stop smoking right now! Don't wait until you're deployed to Afghanistan to try to quit. These pharmaceutical weapons are much more safe and effective than one weapon most-often used to curb smoking in TRICARE beneficiaries already deployed overseas.. Bagram Batman.
